“β内啡呔”（β—endorphin）
An endorphin produced by the pituitary gland that is a potent pain suppressant.
Beta-endorphin is released into the blood (from the pituitary gland) and into the spinal cord and brain from hypothalamic neurons.
当大脑处于清醒松弛的状态时,会分泌一种有益的激素,即β—内啡呔（beta—endorphins）,这种激素的化学结构与毒品吗啡的分子结构十分相似,因此又称为“脑内吗啡”.
荷而蒙是一种在细胞间扮演资讯传达功能的物质.与情绪有关的荷而蒙,包括肾上腺素(Adrenalin)、副肾上腺素(Noradrenalin)、脑啡呔 (Enkephalin)、β内啡呔 (β-endorphin)等.因为神经细胞间存有小小的间隙,因此,当一个人感受到高兴的情绪时,脑中即会分泌出β内腓呔,并将此感觉往体内转送,启动以下生理机制：分泌β内腓呔→使血管收缩正常→血流顺畅,使体内细胞活性化→可防止成人病及老化→尤其免疫细胞被活络→提高免疫力、永保健康.
